Headliner Bios

Gerry Beaudoin

Award winning guitarist Gerry Beaudoin burst onto the jazz scene in the early 90s with his Boston Jazz Ensemble establishing himself as a guitarist’s guitarist in over 40 recordings. His rich chords and bluesy, swing style distinguish his work with stars such as Grammy nominated vocalist Karrin Allyson, guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli, and drummer Alan Dawson or in his “New Guitar Summit” recording with Duke Robillard and legendary guitarist J. Geils of the J. Geils band.

Cassandre McKinley

Her clear, engaging, and soulful style leads vocalist Cassandre McKinley to be one of New England’s fastest rising jazz stars. She just released her debut album under the MAXJAZZ label entitled, “Till Tomorrow – Remembering Marvin Gay”.

Harry Allen

Sax player Harry Allen has over thirty recordings and three award winning CDs to his credit. A chance meeting with Beaudoin in 2009 led to their recently released CD “Gerry Beaudoino: The Return" with Harry Allen”. Their CD release party is scheduled for September 8th at Sculler's Jazz Club in Boston.

Stan Strikland

Singer, saxophonist, flutist, and actor Stan Strickland will lead his All Star Jazz quartet including Frank Wilkins on piano, Dave Zinno on bass, and Royal Hartigan on drums. A versatile performer, Strickland has opened for Miles Davis, performed with jazz greats like Yusef Lateef and Pharoah Sanders, toured with rock group Bare Naked Ladies, and traveled Africa with The Village People. His 2005 Hawkline Records CD “Love and Beauty” features Strickland performing original vocals and new arrangements of classic jazz standards.

The Alden Barret Trio

The Alden Barret Trio features guitarist Howard Alden and trombonist Dan Barrett, major players in the small group swing movement of the 80s and 90s. In 1986 they released a CD entitled Swing Street as co-leaders of the Alden-Barrett Quintet that included arrangements by Buck Clayton and Charlie Shavers. A second CD, ABQ Salutes Buck Clayton, continued the tradition, in the style of John Kirby's band of the 1940s. In the 1990s, the quintet was the featured act at the annual Cape Cod Jazz Society summer concert in Hyannis. The trio includes Frank Tate, the bass player for the quintet. Tate started playing bass at the age of 23 and became the leader of the house band at Blues Alley in D.C. He recently came to Woods Hole with pianist Rossano Sportiello.
